Robinhood Chain: Arbitrum Blockchain Powers Tokenized Stocks
Robinhood launches Robinhood Chain, its Arbitrum-based Layer 2 blockchain, enabling 24/7 tokenized stock trading across 120+ countries.
Robinhood Chain: Inside the Ethereum Layer 2 Bringing Tokenized Stocks to the World
Robinhood officially launched the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain on July 1, 2026, at a keynote event in London titled "The World is Flat," presented by CEO Vlad Tenev and SVP Johann Kerbrat.
A Layer 2 Built for Real-World Asset Tokenization
Robinhood Chain is an Arbitrum-based Ethereum Layer-2 network supporting tokenized stock trading, DeFi yield products, and AI-powered autonomous trading across more than 120 countries. The network features 100ms block times and is designed specifically for tokenized real-world assets like equities and ETFs.
The rollout didn't come out of nowhere. A public testnet launched on February 10, 2026 recorded 4 million transactions in its first week, giving developers roughly five months to build and test before the mainnet went live.
Stock Tokens: The Core Product
The headline product is Stock Tokens: on-chain representations of equities like NVDA, GOOG and AAPL that trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week, rather than during limited market hours. Holders can use these tokens as trading collateral and deploy them into lending pools across the broader DeFi ecosystem, blurring the line between a brokerage stock and a composable on-chain asset.
Access runs through Robinhood Wallet in over 120 countries, though notably not for US persons.
A DeFi Ecosystem Live From Day One
Unlike many corporate blockchain launches that debut into an empty network, Robinhood Chain shipped with active partners. A day-one DeFi stack includes decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap, deploying a dedicated AMM for public liquidity, alongside Lighter, 1inch, Rialto, and Arcus, built by the team behind dYdX.
Robinhood Earn offers around 7% annual yield on the USDG stablecoin, backed by Lloyd's insurance a figure that compares favorably to most traditional savings products.
Robinhood Chain features Chainlink as its official oracle and cross-chain infrastructure provider, integrating Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Streams, and Data Feeds immediately upon launch.
Built for Developers, Not Just Traders
The chain supports ERC-4337 account abstraction out of the box, enabling gas sponsorship, batched transactions, and social recovery features that dramatically lower the UX barrier for retail users coming from the traditional Robinhood app. Because the network runs on the Arbitrum stack, Solidity contracts deploy unchanged, and existing tooling such as Hardhat, Foundry, and thirdweb works out of the box.
Why This Launch Is Different
Robinhood Chain inherits a pipeline to 23 million existing retail accounts, many of whom already understand the core value proposition trade stocks, earn yield, interact with markets and simply need the on-chain version to be as smooth as the app they already use. Most new blockchain networks spend years courting users from scratch; Robinhood starts with a built-in distribution channel most competitors can't match.
